   Helping people up there is a difficult question. Not even sherpas have a lot of extra energy beyond dragging themselves and the necessary gear up and down. Traditional wisdom says trying to help someone up there is a good way to die yourself. If the scenario was two brave explorers like Hillary meeting while doing something pioneering and meaningful than sure help the other guy.
   
   But why would anyone take on additional risk of dying (and throwing away years of preparation and lots of money) to save a Darwin award contestant from his unpreparedness or wrong decisions on a commercial trip.
