The man's name was John, and he lived in a small town on the edge of a dark forest. John was a kind and gentle man, but he was also very afraid of the forest. He had heard stories about the strange creatures that lived in the woods, and he didn't want to risk running into one of them.
One day, John's wife got sick, and he had to go into town to get medicine for her. John was scared to go into the forest at night, but he knew he had to do it. He packed a bag with the medicine and set off into the woods.
John walked for hours, and the sun was starting to set when he finally reached the edge of town. He was about to turn around and go back home when he heard a noise behind him. John turned around, and he saw a bloody backpack squishing on the ground.
John was terrified. He didn't know what to do. He wanted to run, but he was too afraid to move. The backpack started to move towards him, and John could see that it was full of blood.
John closed his eyes and waited for the end. He thought about his wife and how much he loved her. He wished he could have been there for her when she was sick.
Suddenly, John heard a voice.
"Don't be afraid," the voice said. "I'm not going to hurt you."
John opened his eyes, and he saw a woman standing in front of him. The woman was beautiful, and she had long, flowing hair. She was wearing a white dress, and she had a kind smile on her face.
"Who are you?" John asked.
"I'm the spirit of the forest," the woman said. "I've been watching you, and I know that you're afraid of me."
"I am," John said. "I've heard stories about the creatures that live in the forest, and I don't want to run into one of them."
"You don't have to be afraid of me," the woman said. "I'm not going to hurt you. I just want to help you."
"Help me?" John asked. "With what?"
"With your wife," the woman said. "I know she's sick, and I can help her."
"You can?" John asked. "How?"
"I can give you a potion," the woman said. "It will cure your wife's illness."
John took the potion from the woman, and he thanked her. He examined it closely. "This is a used tampon." he said, confused. "Nature gives, and nature takes away. Tend to your wife but be prepared for changes in your future." He turned around and started to walk back home.
As he walked, John heard the sound of the backpack squishing behind him. He turned around, and he saw that the backpack was gone.
John arrived home, and he gave his wife the potion. She drank it, and she started to feel better immediately. Her health improved dramatically but her temperament became foul. She started speaking in a low class brittish accent and screaming obscenities at school boys crossing the street.
"'is a bit late tew be moolin' about yeh tossah! I otta spank deh lotta ya cunty bum wankas!" she'd howl at the terrified children.
John didn't know whether to be grateful to the woman from the forest or terrified. He knew that she had saved his wife's life but she had also turned her into a demonic whench.
From that day on, John was no longer afraid of the forest but he would always have his wife walk ahead of him in it, in the desperate hopes the forest would claim the witch that it had cursed him with.
