   Mostly just echoing Eri here but Fedi was never supposed to be a chat service. The DMs are there because it’s useful to be able to have 1 on 1 chats with other users, not because it’s a good idea to use consistently in the place of a proper messaging service. It’s not private, it’s not encrypted, hell it’s not even real time. Use Revolt, use XMPP, use PGP, just don’t use Fedi DMs for anything private. please. God.
