Over the past few weeks I've noticed that Cornbread seems to prefer sleeping in well lit places as opposed to dark places.
This makes sense. He's able to easily see all of his surroundings. That would calm his wild part of his brain.
For now I've moved his bed into the hallway right outside of my bedroom door which is right across a nightlight. I also put a bathroom rug in front of it. So far Cornbread has been loving it.
He's in a well lit area, he can still see me on my bed less than 6 feet away, because I normally sleep on my right side I face him and he seems to like that, despite it being dark in my room, he knows that area is secure and there's no other way in other than the door he's at, I can adjust the laundry closet doors to make it feel more more enclosed, and that night light doesn't bother me because the doorframe next to it is just long enough that I don't have line of sight to it so it's not shining directly in my eyes. I only see the things it's illuminating which is fine and doesn't bother me.
