A painting made in gouache on Canson aquarelle paper, size 80x60cm. It is inspired by the view from above, in an airplane, taking off at Bazel. It depicts a landscape based on Switzerland, specifically the view from the Jura mountains to the Alps. In the foreground you see rolling hills and mountains in the mist. It is something in between abstract and figurative. There is one train coming out of a tunnel, it is the only highly sharp detail in that part. The middle plan shows a lake in a valley in the mountains with a town, in various warm colours, small and detailed. From town leaves a red train. On the right side of the lake we see factories and a high way with cars and lorries. The back plan depicts a view on high mountains, in pastel blues, greens and lilacs. The mist rolls through them. It is a clear day, the sky is a faint light blue. On the edges of the mountains, the sun is reflected, in a soft yellow hue.
