   I think a lot of the anguish against AI in art is an extension of something we've all known for a long time, which is that your customers largely can't see and don't care about the confluence of little professional steps that build to a high quality piece of art. your goal and their goal are not aligned. you want to do real art for a living and they want a quick picture that causes an immediate impression and they don't care if the hat on the cat blends into the ear when you blow up the centimeter-wide emoji to photo size.
   
   They know "just be better than the AI it's not hard" won't work for this reason and we're just going to get a lot more slop made instead of paying artists.
