   This is emblematic of the gayness that we’ll ultimately endure for years under the roastocracy: Cheapening of merits that prior generations had to die for, issued by fat spinsters looking for eye-catching headlines. We do this crap, too. Award inflation comes for all.

   Go back 50 years and this guy would have been recognized with a more measured award for his work, not really their equivalent of the sacred Medal of Honor. If I were that guy I’d be offended. Gimme a more suitable honor so I don’t feel like a thief.

   This guy didn’t consciously trade his fighter for a drone though. he ingested debris and was going down anyway. Without room to put her down easy, he opted to turn away from the city and eject. Cool, but not really worth of the highest honor when you consider how much peril previous winners faced in comparison. What got him this award was his immediate selfie being signal boosted around the world.
