   It suffered from the same issue some of these communities did where they wanted to be "literally me" and the next thing you know you can get surgery scars in Dragon Age.
   
   Furries see their fursonas as "literally me", regardless of how and why. At a certain point, it's no longer their idealized self and they choose to want to be their SL avatar or fursona IRL to some degree. Hence, IRL gender shit invading furry art. Here's one example of a furry like this writing a tl;dr justification where the best part is this graph I posted.

   The other thing with the furry scene is that there is literally no barrier of entry, and the only one that exists now is about if you have kosher politics. Furries will draw fursonas for random celebs as they're desperate to have /ourguy/ (this is the entire career trajectory of Boozy Badger as an example).
