One of my Priconne mates translated the dev's reason for leaving Nexon
`
3 reasons why I (we?) left
Frustration with the Nexon sales team for their contracts and global sales. We thought we could do better. They would come with some weird partner and we can't always refuse.
Frustration with the publisher. Yostar disapproved the story for Season 2 (story after Volume F) for over doing it. Some translation issue, including how Yostar puts their own interpretationfor some characters.
Frustration with Nexon Games. Incentives start to decrease a lot after 3 years from launching the game. It's the same reason why Hit team (another game) was constantly making sequals.
BA was an outlier in that their profit continually grew over time. But "since it's 3 years since the launch, incentives will drop no matter how much it grows"
RX is fine but "Nexon Games has too many first title studio. They are taking way too much incentives and our portion is just too small because of it" when it was MX bringing in the profit.
We need to start over from the ground up if we want to change this.
So in summary, "we couldn't write what we wanted, so we are leaving. Reward will be more fair than Nexon Games"
Most people who has left wasn't aware of how much incentives directors were getting. The first time we found out is when the budget report for Nexon Games got released. And we know the distribution of the incentives is the director's responsibility.
So really, most people would have no idea if their incentives decreased because of company policy or because the directors took the bigger portion. No one knows how much incentives each person got.
We took people out starting from the director > team lead > part lead. We only started convincing team members to join us between June ~ July. However, we had trouble here as there were too many team members who decided to stay because they liked BA.
For the reason why we didn't hire a dedicated person for communicating in
Japanese, we had no trouble communicating with Yostar whenever they visited us. They always brought their translator with them, but no one needed the translation when we talked with Yostar in person. So we thought we would be fine without it. But we couldn't do "business Japanese".
Rumors about people leaving because they weren't able to work on RX is false. No one wanted to move from MX to RX anyway. You don't get any incentives until the game launch.
And yes, KV means Kivotos. What we are making is the real Kivotos y'know.`
