   The "optics" issue is real but the problem is that people think it's about *content* rather than *context*. You legitimately can talk about the jews all you want when you're well-spoken and likeable, but when you're autistic and bring them up in every conversation with your gay 4chan meme jokes from 2017, naturally people are going to be driven away. But the autists don't get this (by nature of being autistic) and think they're part of the cool kids club, so they act obnoxious and repulsive without any self-awareness and push everyone else away.
