In interviews, the lesbian director, who was Harvey Weinstein’s sex slave wrangler - er, I mean - his assistant, actually made the show so lightsabers were “symbols of male phallic power” that the women were taking back. IE: When the MC took apart the lightsaber in the last episodes, she was - I shit you not - ‘analyzing the saber as if it were a vagina; the phallic symbol of power is shown weak and emasculated so a woman can harness it.’
