The Sun is seen using three different wavelengths of ultraviolet light, resulting in a swirling mix of light and dark areas, including one large dark patch in the upper right half of the sphere. A small black circle is seen just inside of the 11 o'clock position, and that spot is Venus, making a 2012 transit of the Sun, passing in between Earth and our star.
