   > Everyone latches on to debate, argue, and repost it everywhere they go in the social media ecosystem. Nobody changes their mind, it just cements everyone in their camp of bad takes
   
   > Post makes the rounds until a journo discovers it as a gold nugget to publish and slurp up ad revenue
   
   > Now the story is "reported" and registered by a company and letterhead, it's been placed into the *media* ecosystem, and can now be filtered into articles, headlines, and placements
   
   > Your grandma logs into her algorithmically curated (for engagement) "news" app or windows edge home page to see subversive fanfiction
   
   > Consensus-minded women shake their heads but realize "things are different these days....." and imagine that everyone but themselves loves the fanfiction-reality
   
   Boom, the cycle is complete. Moral defenses are chewed and chipped away, one headline after another
