   @Terry @dubbub Well, they had hoped that it would make the ruskies so jumpy about every civilian they'd just be conservatively shooting anybody that looked suspicious.

   Makes sense in a way, if I were adequately motivated I can't say I'd absolutely rule it out in that position either. The puppeteers were worrying the russian thrust to go deeper into their country at that point, leaving them too rumped to hold out for long. That was one of the few little tricks that they could try and pull off in order to galvanize their people at being willing to fight to the death, back when the international media apparatus hadn't yet set everything up to psychologically scaffold the war effort to the exclusion of any doubt.

   If you want to make sure your people are socially ostracized for being pro "peace" in all its forms, you have to make sure the enemy offends them in every way possible. And the russkies were surprisingly restrained. (90's ZOG style)
