The fundraising just never ends, these things are absolute money pits. I'd be more in favor of "preserving history" if there's indication that these planes are meant to fly in 100 years.
But I don't get that: What I pick up on is this unspoken assumption that we're bankrolling boomer toys, and once they all die, the whole thing will collapse because they REFUSE to train any younger pilots up to the level they can check off others and insure the plane.
