   So much of this theater

   Actually, not just theater - academia too

   Is just a pyramid scheme like this. It's strivers, hobbyists enthralled by some niche flavor of fagginess who somehow boostrap an industry where their sole measure in life is performing for their own and patting ass for pay.

   Comedy is just improv theater

   Plays are theater kids

   Standup is just a bunch of wannabes watching each other perform at an open mike night

   Palentology is one old boomer and 55 students thinking that they'll be the one to ascend to his position when he finally DOES retire (competing with the last 30 years' graduates in the running)
