We want the war to end. We know that we are ordinary people. We are not invincible warriors. We are not heroes. We are tired and compassionate. We all want a better tomorrow. We want to see our loved ones again. We want to enjoy the simple pleasures of life. I want to see my brother again. I want to hug my sister and my daughters. My heart goes out to my uncle for the loss he has suffered. I wish we could hug our loved ones and end this pointless war. I dream of seeing my family again. I dream of spending summer afternoons with my brother. I wish for peace. My colleague Omar, and many others in northern Gaza, also dream of peace. Even if it means sacrificing a day at the barber shop. Shouldn't these modest aspirations be enough to end the war? Y usuf Faris - Gaza aza poets society
