Doesn't help that every time I check in on the accessible performance cars they seem stagnant. Someone told me the type R is basically unchanged, and wouldn't ya know it's still got the same specs as it did 10 full years ago.
I wonder if the STI is still using that 20 year old engine, too. Why would you go and buy a new car that's mechanically similar to the one from 15 years ago, but now with an ipad bolted to the dash and a thousand binging, bonging nanny lights bothering you when you do something outside the standard commute cycle?
"oh the new one has a wireless charger for your phone, BUILT IN TO THE DASH!!! It has parking assist!!!! It has a transmission that shifts in 3/10 of a second!!!!!"
"okay but is the transmission programmed well or is it going to always lag in deciding to shift anyways? Does it do the german thing where even "manual mode" is just sending a request instead of an order so every shift feels like it takes a full second anyway?"
"....I don't understand?"
