A giant deep-sea isopod (Bathynomus giganteus) filmed by the ROV on Okeanos Explorer in the Gulf of Mexico at a depth of 810 meters (2,660 feet). This impressive underwater creature measures nearly 30cm (almost 1 foot), as indicated by the red laser dots, spaced 10cm apart, that provide scale to the scientists.
