@aral yes, and we also didn't have the technological ability to solve the decimation/extinction problem itself, on its ecological level; and that same technological ability, and its much easier developments, would be of great help with a world finally liberated from capitalism: an anarcho-communist, or socialist-libertarian (as you like it more) world where, in addition to all the other, there would be no patents, no industrial secrets, no secret scientific and humanist knowledge. @aral the way i see it, capitalism has *always* been decimation/exitinction stage.
