@itsfoss a non-memorable one. Had a bunch of issues with the display, keyboard, fan noise, standby/suspend and started researching on how to fix them, feeling all nerdy and pro.

Then I just switched to a newer kernel version and it fixed everything. Simply a driver issue. (btw: as a linux noob, was *very* hard to find out kernel version is a thing, installing piece of cake)

Point being: if you get a new laptop, consider installing a new kernel version, before putting in too much manual effort.

@aral maybe add "just copy paste the emojis" in the description? It would have confused me otherwise, I did not really know that works. But a really clever idea to make it look nice!

@aral what is the advantage of the emoji representation? (besides looking friendly :blobcat_mlem: ) Could I just copy it into a, say, KeePassXC text field? I'd be worried I need to handle it somehow specially.

@aral once got held up entering the US for some paper reason and was brought into a room full of people who looked Middle-Eastern possibly. Was the only white person. No way this was a random sample or based on anything randomly distributed like fucking up your papers. Also the desk of the officer was like 1m higher than the rest so he could yell down at people while sitting. Asshole judge vibes.
