also, we made the new low profile hdmi 2 edp adapter today for reform next (soldered by @theawesomerandomness like the other pcbs). i hand made an adapter cable to our old custom display cable so i could test it before ordering custom cabling.
all remaining crowdfunded Hyper MNT Pocket Reforms are now packed and ready for customs inspection + shipping to Crowd Supply. we have 68 non-Hyper Pocket Reforms left to ship, which should take around 2 weeks. we'll then start catching up with the units that Crowd Supply sold/is selling since the campaign concluded.
because Iosevka's footprint has swollen to over 400MB installed size and the complex nodejs build process, i'm considering to move to IBM Plex Mono on the MNT Reform devices for the default terminal font, which is also already packaged in Debian (fonts-ibm-plex). any objections or preferred alternatives?
just to add some context here: this was just me being curious how well the EDK2 stack for RK3588 works on MNT Reform, and apparently it has a lot of potential, of course mainly for free/open source and DIY OSes. i have no intention of running windows on my devices. some people have to run proprietary window stuff for work or because they are trained in certain commercial software. i'm a hardcore FOSS user but i think that laughing at people because they have to do this is also a form of ableism.
