MNT Reform Next prototype update: —it runs from batteries —it can charge the battery pack via usb-c —system contoller firmware can talk to the new batterypack and report voltages —system controller can talk to the charger
testing asiarf wifi card (with mt7612u chip) in A311D MNT Pocket Reform with new ezurio (laird) antennas. this is a winning combo :3 (note that this is near the max speed of our vdsl... we don't have fiber yet)
PSA MNT Pocket Reform WWAN Modem: community user "moep" has sucessfully tested the Quectel EM060K-EA modem. There is also a global version of this modem, EM060K-GL, which might be a good choice if you need the modem to work in most places.
thanks to extra hard assembly & packaging work by @holo_memory and @theawesomerandomness we are now done with all crowdfunded MNT Pocket Reforms, incl. Hyper and Single. the final shipment for this phase goes out tomorrow after we get customs clearance.
next priority will be the post-campaign orders, and we'll also be able to finally offer MNT Pocket Reform in our own shop.
just realized i might have stopped using a file manager on linux because packages always mess with mime type assignments, like gimp will be used to open PDFs when double clicked, CSVs will be opened by krita or things like that
Two headaches solved today: —I patched Linux kernel 6.10.3 so that it doesn't crash i.MX8MPlus on boot any longer, linux-image updates are now back in our repo and available via apt —AsiaRF M27612-BU3 WiFi cards arrived and they work perfectly at full speed in Pocket Reform with A311D, in the WWAN slot. A solid workaround for the 20-30mbit/s limit and intermittent stalls of the default RTL8822CS wifi on the Banana Pi CM4. I have some Ezurio FlexPIFA antennas on order for future bundling.
