@purpleidea well, it is a thing in the industrial world but not (yet) in consumer products. would be great if that changed though.

sinbon (hungary based) make these short ix Industrial to ethernet jack (!) cables for an OK price (16 EUR). i think these should be very useful for MNT Pocket Reform users. anyone interested? i'll buy a bunch and we'll put them in the shop.

@oldkid that's a GPU problem. the RK3588 module is already finished and currently in production, yes.

@larme thanks! crowdfunding ended on Apr 27, 2023. that means you're part of the post-crowdfunding batch(es) we are preparing to ship to CS at the moment (will be finished in 3-4 weeks). we can't see or act on individual crowd supply orders—we only ship inventory to CS who then distribute to you.

@vimja no. the banana pi doesn't have a qualcomm wlan, but a realtek rtl8822cs, which has issues

i wanted to learn how to use the layer-shell protocol for wayland, more specifically gtk4-layer-shell, and wrote a little C program that's meant as a popup/dropdown from the top bar to control volume and brightness with sliders.

@haupz that is correct. for RK3588 there will be another solution later that will free up the WWAN slot. i designed in a wifi/bt fpc connector with usb, sdio, uart signals, and a custom wifi/bt board can then be mounted instead of the headphone board (and will retain the headphone connector and switch)

we'll also offer affordable upgrade bundles for existing Pocket Reform owners.

this will be the base model configuration that we'll offer in the MNT Shop
