Bear.community ran over their plan limits in November. Masto.host hasn't been able to reach the admin, @urso, in over a month. That's why they've been down this weekend. Masto.host has kindly agreed to bring the instance back online temporarily, but it will very likely shut down permanently on January 31.
@Buster I share that concern, though I'm not sure whether we're really contributing in any meaningful way to discoverability--anyone interested in CSAM can look at basically any blocklist to get a long list of instances.
We might opt to obfuscate those domains, like `ab***cd.com`. Though that has tradeoffs too--makes it harder for other admins to block.
