This is the wildest screenshot I've ever shared in my life.
Somehow, my debut novel has sold to Ballantine / PRH.
The elevator pitch is simple: what if Silicon Valley invented the time machine?

Software-career thought leaders will warn you against taking an “off-ramp” from engineering.
What they don't tell you is that eventually, the off-ramp comes for all of us. Take the off-ramp before it takes you.
A letter to my 22-year-old self:

I have spent the last 5 years telling myself “Someday I’m going to sit down and figure out what Nix actually is.”
So I finally used the US holiday weekend to look into it.
Here is what I learned: https://newsletter.goodtechthings.com/p/notes-on-nix

Why are tech people suddenly so int homeschooling?
As someone who was homeschooled for 13 years, I think it often boils down to a desire to *opt out of being around the average person*.
This impulse is understandable but maybe not very healthy.

So here is a TIL that blew my mind today.
You know Sheryl Sandberg’s famous line: “If you’re offered a seat on a rocket ship, don’t ask which seat, just get on”?
Do you know who originally said that?
It was CHRISTA MCAULIFFE.
Who died in the Challenger explosion.
In case you’re wondering whether to trust rhetoric that comes out of Meta.

This was the strangest AWS re:Invent I can remember, for one very specific reason. (No, it wasn't the nausea-inducing LED floor tiles outside the keynote hall)

Tech is the funniest industry and it always will be.
It's a bunch of people who think they are creatures of pure logic, but every problem they try to solve turns out to be a human problem that is inherently illogical.
The results are endlessly hysterical.
