As a programmer, just b/c the project is public, doesn't mean my code should be as well.

Certain exceptions where release of the code is in the public interest, like code used on voting machines, but when a coder's work can be applied to other uses, the author deserves compensation for their hard work.

On the news the other day, a woman was killed by her stalker/husband who tracked her using Apple AirTags.

She called the police and told them she believed he was tracking her, but they said they couldn't do anything unless she could prove it.

I'm trying to figure out *how* exactly one would "prove* someone placed a tracker on them (or their car)? 🤬

The problem is the entire EV industry lacks Federal Standards. They need standardized charging ports (so you can plug in anywhere), standardized batteries (for battery swap kiosks) and standardized diagnostic ports.
