    and 4 are absolutely against A

    the majority is for A, if A happens people will be less happy as a result

    @lain @feld i think there are 2 ways to fix this:

    1: randomness and live with any result

    2: gerrymander as much as possible but put rules in place to make it more fair

    i would argue approach 1 will lead people to go to areas which serves their political agendas long term.

    like if an area has high property taxes but good schools, people with kids will go there and people without will leave. over many many generations the outcome might be gerrymandered again, because populations moved

    to prevent this maybe areas should be randomized every election, or every tenth or whatever...

    that said all election systems are broken in some regard

    @kaia im done and home. my brain melted. 5h of movie theatre. i dont know why we decided to do this but this excess was very successfull.

    i think sometimes humans need to go to weird extremes. and better stupid ideas like that than hard drugs or reading the whole known network timeline

    i think smol instances with admins who are actually trusted are a key for a good experience.

    this way the admins can be empowered to do a good job without being scared of backlash or negativity. this way instances actually feel different and we have actual diversity and not 1000 mastodon instances with the same fediblock rules.

    also i think there is a space for all kinds of safespaces. inclusivity by individuality.

    @McMongoose @lain @Moon first of all this comparison is completely pointless for me. i think the only thing i remember about puerto rico and american media is april being part puerto rican in parks and recreation :laughing_cirno:

    second of all just because zelenskyy got elected not all nazis suddenly vanished.

    just like not all racism issues suddenly vanished when obama was elected.

    @lain i kinda agree on the economics part. but i belief he knows more about economics than 98%^^

    reminds me louis rossmann once said he always tries to vote for the side which starts less wars. all other topics are secondary.

    recently im to busy to keep up with local politics (like city level) so i just checkout a single random topic and vote based upon that. before that i filter some partys out ofc i would never vote for.
