my kid and i enjoy doing two things in particular together: building lego sets and tinkering with mechanical keyboards.

so when i saw there was a mechanical keyboard kit that you build out of lego parts and still do all the keyboard stuff like installing gaskets, lubing stabilizers, and installing switches and keycaps, i knew it was the perfect birthday gift for her.
