@Gargron Those things are giant tanks; I can't say I'm surprised. I used a Pentacon Six TL for a while and that had the same "problem". A lot of big moving parts on those MF SLRs!

Semi-related: although Leitz designed this for making photocopies, they genuinely suggested using it hand-held as a close-focus setup. I found this example in one of their pamphlets; I tried to replicated it with my cat and she was horrified.

Now I can't unsee it and it's everywhere, so I'm writing this in the hope I can infect someone else.
