@HandgunYoga @muiren @aral whiteness and white people have 100% created an identity, with a huge volume of social cues and rules, enforced with legal and extra legal violence. It's just that we weren't allowed to talk about it unless we agreed with the system.
As a white person, in a lot of new social situations, white people include me in racist comments or jokes to test if I'll follow the rules. If i go along with that, nobody has "talked about it". If i push back then I've "made it about race". But in reality, it was talked about either way. In the real world a rule that discussing race/racism is impolite is a rule against pointing out racism
