@WashedOutGundamPilot Dig a little deeper and you'll see that "Jobs you White boys refuse to do" is code word for the same job at half the price. What's weird is that they refuse to even help family, letting their kids NEET off them while the hire Miguel to clean the drain pipes.

@coolboymew @dave @CatLord It’s about the same quality as the big ones, maybe a tad worse. My experience was also during coof times tho so maybe they’ve improved.

Also I’m not sure what’s up with old wild west, but the meat isn’t that great quality compared to your average burger joint in america.

@Griffith @Zerglingman @professionalbigot69 Another thing to keep in mind: Knowing how to do things yourself allows you to sound the alarm on lying tradesmen. Nobody likes being gypped on their car. Even if I don’t get gypped, I’m not willing to put my hard earned money on jorge the illegal.

I agree with woggy’s idea of learning the stuff, so that you can hand that knowledge down to drifting White guys who can’t get ahead conventionally. That’s my intention: to be the boomer mentor that the boomers never were.

@Griffith @Zerglingman @professionalbigot69 One major problem with “trades” is how totally ill-defined it is. Guys wanting to skip collage debt will instead go into the same handful of trades (plumbing, electricians, welders, etc.) when there’s actually huge areas relatively untouched.

Don’t like specializing? You can even double or triple up on smaller things like machine operation, elevator repairs, or even fire extinguishing inspection, and all these will give you a hedge against burger flipping without wasting your time or efforts.

It’s clear that some africans have ambition and (slightly) higher IQs than the rest of their country, but are only capable of cargo-culting in a crab-bucket of gibsmedat. what a terrible fate, this is why we should never have introduced high tech to a low tech society.

@WashedOutGundamPilot I think habit is the main culprit. It’s like my coworkers talking about how baaad starfield is as they doggedly go home every night to play it for hours.

It’s like they’re hunting for an iota of fun that they once experienced playing skyrim when they were 10. I assume movies are the same way with these boomer types.

@WashedOutGundamPilot @doublecart A more controversial angle is gauging intelligence via lenition, or lack thereof. Vocabulary is a better indicator, but even identical sentences can betray someone’s intellect.

I’m sure a lot of Americans with regional dialects will probably get mad at me saying this, though.

Never had vine/tiktok, never watched netflix slop, I don’t play new games, and attempts to do so have left me angry at the blatant propaganda.

@Shadowman311 That’s why attacking israel via proxy would actually be a good move on Russia’s part. If the US elites are trying to get the US nuked, maybe attack where they’re hoping to escape to and they’ll sing a different tune. Avoids glassing a bunch of civilians, too.

Yeah, that coupled with renting instead of homeownership makes a great combo for never being responsible for the policies you vote in your state.

I wonder if pricing millenials/genz out of housing/transport will make them care more about their town. If you can’t buy your way 2 stops down the freeway you might have to actually do something.

But america is weird where people care more about national things than local, up until things happen locally which they can’t ignore. Then they move to a new state and repeat the cycle.
