Folks who are trying to convince friends to try out the Fediverse: I strongly recommend not talking about what's wrong or evil about other sites/platforms. Instead, perhaps try focusing on how much better it feels here, how much more human, more diverse, more organic it can be.

Been a minute since I've said so, but there is no such thing as a "digital native." Kids brought up around tech aren't magically experts in it.

What is true is that kids learn the technology necessary to socialize with their peers. But that doesn't mean they intuit organization skills or systems thinking. These still have to be taught, and I fear they're too often ignored in light of this pernicious myth.

#Rust is a great programming language, but a terrible first programming language. I strongly recommend against anyone beginning their programming journey there.
