@aral I don't think it should be celebrated, but it's inevitable, and it's a consequence of the fediverse's rise.

I use Medium, YouTube and other companies' products, and generally speaking I'm not an absolutist. I have red lines, such as if a company openly supports the far right.

I am not against companies joining the fediverse. And if the fediverse is impossible to buy, as often claimed, they shouldn't be able to swallow it up.
