Turns out robots can't take care of the elderly. A multi-year experiment with several cutting-edge robots designed to provide different sorts of support for elder care shows that robots require as much or more care than the elderly they're supposed to care for. Introducing robots increases the workload if human caregivers. https://www.cornellpress.cornell.edu/book/9781501768040/robots-wont-save-japan/#bookTabs=1#robot#ElderCare
I sometimes hear people who are not even millionaires saying things like, “Just being a billionaire doesn’t make someone a bad person.” It absolutely makes them a bad person. One doesn’t just happen to accumulate a billion dollars because one has a great product or service. It happens because you exploit the fuck out of people and resources. You hoard profits for yourself rather than share them with the people who are actually making your products and providing your services.
If you sometimes forget to add alt text to images, you should definitely follow @PleaseCaption It will automatically follow you back, then send a direct message (not visible to others) every time you post an image without captions.
But will caption bot tell me if I accidentally boost a toot that doesn't include alt text? Because that's where I often mess up. Let's see.
By the way, if you didn't know this, you can add alt text to an image after the fact, but the process is not very intuitive. Use the "Edit" tool, then DELETE the image from the toot. Put it back in, and then add the alt text. You can't add alt text until you first remove the image and replace it.
I'm perplexed at how the "Don't delete your Twitter account because someone will steal your user name and impersonate you" notion seems to have taken hold. It's like checking to make sure your cabin door is locked before you abandon ship on the Titanic. At this point, why do you care, and why do you think someone would care enough to try to impersonate you?
