    Does only its scarcity gives it value?

    A knife made from gold won't hold an edge for long. A hammer made of gold will bend. A gun made of gold will explode (except in Goldeneye) why should this useless metal rule men's lives?

    Why does it's scarcity matter? Uranium is scarce but I can say with honesty I'd rather not have any.

    I am not being argumentative or disingenuous. I just think it's silly almost to the point of insanity.

    I fucking love old computers and I have a holy grail, the only reason I don't just buy one is I am afraid it won't be as good as my memory of it.

    I had a Toshiba Portege M200, I had upgraded the RAM and put a fast HDD in it. It was of that weird time period when a laptop wanted to be a tablet wanted to be a laptop and it was odd. Stylus touchscreen, transformer spin around flip down to become a tablet screen. Core2Duo. I adored the little thing.

    I do not remember at all what became of it, I was younger and you always think the next computer will be better, but nothing has ever really compared. Thinkpad T400 came close in my heart but just never usurped the top spot.

    Someday I will buy one, get frustrated that it isn't as cool as I remember and put it on a shelf forever, but not just yet.

    dude... grandpa's keyboard there looks a lot like the one that used to come with Zoomtext, an insanely poorly written visual aid program for windows.

    It was huge, it murdered RAM, and it would make shit like Excel crash and make even decent laptops overheat and shutdown.

    Why does it hurt people irl that I do not appear to give a shit?

    It's not like I expect them to give a shit. I don't ask people for anything. What I can do I do and what I can't do I figure out how to do.

    I help people with things if they need it or even if they don't need it and they ask for help. I am polite to them. Why is the expectation some weird public display of empathy?

    Words mean next to nothing. I care about people by actions.
