Also as I've said before GNOME is a terrible pick for a tablet. Because of the hardware limitations, a tablet absolutely has to have a coherent user interface, and GNOME is a lot of things, but its very design principles from the beginning have been almost decidedly anti-coherency.
I would have considered putting some dev cash into getting Elementary to work on tablets. But what do I know. . .

Tablets are just screaming out for a for more restrictive, prescriptive UI framework. And GNOME is very much not that.
