I ignore "requirements" on job listings. I've never been asked to show any proof of any, anyway. Once they realize I'm an intelligent human being who will show up, I'm usually hired immediately. It's been a long while, though.

Well, it doesn't mention anything about them doing it for any pay-out money but I wasn't aware that it's a "time honored" tradition for firemen to be "liasons" to widows of fallen firemen (obviously it makes sense that something like that would occur, though). So, clearly, these men are putting themselves in positions to be shacking up with emotionally vulnerable widows; what did they expect was going to happen? The money, though, that's a whole 'nother animal.
