@jzb I had been purposefully reading about Linux and open source for several years. Although there were cheap CD sets of many distros available online, at the time I'd never ordered online and wasn't about to trust my credit card number to the Web. I discovered by accident while visiting Best Buy that they had the PowerPak edition of Mandrake, and a boxed sets of Red Hat Linux. - both for about $70. I went home, did some research, and bought Mandrake the next day. I've been using Linux since.
This writer and I both started using Linux at about the same time and we both started with Mandrake, which we bought shrink-wrapped at a bricks and mortar store: 20 Years of Linux | Blathering https://cubiclenate.com/2024/09/24/20-years-of-linux-blathering/

@errante@amerika If you think that advocating violence against law-abiding citizens should be tolerated (and advocating the forced deportation of people based on skin color and political beliefs is advocating violence), then I don't know what to tell you.
@amerika I never saw that with Twitter, and the only people I've heard that from are people from the far right who want to publish "information" that isn't true, as well as hate speech.
I see that your profile advocates relocating "all other ethnic groups" (which I assume means anybody who isn't white) and exiling "the defectives," which I assume means people like me who disagree with your tolerance of hate and exclusion.
I think that should be enough to have your account permanently canceled.

The elimination round of our Linux desktop poll ends tomorrow and the final round goes up on Wednesday. KDE, Xfce, and Gnome share 80% of the 1,041 votes cast so far. The bottom four, (Cosmic, LXQT, Budgie, and DDE) are in serious danger of being eliminated from the final round, with less than 3% of the vote between them. i3 and Openbox lead in write-in votes, and will likely make it into the final Round. Vote, encourage your Linux friends to vote, for your fav DE or WM. https://fossforce.com/2023/02/what-linux-desktop-did-you-use-in-2022-take-our-poll/
A shout out to the @elementary OS community. 3 hours ago they had barely 20 votes in our Best Linux Distro 2022 poll with only 3% of votes cast. Since then the distros community has been voting to support their distro, which now has 113 votes for 10% of the total, and has gone from near last place in our poll to fourth place, ahead of @linuxmint , @debian , @manjarolinux , @mxlinux , @EndeavourOS , and @opensuse .
