    I have unfortunately decided that weeaboo.space will be shutting down. And this post serves as the initial announcement.

    There's multiple reasons for this, but chief among them is probably the simple fact that I'm not that heavy of a microblogging user anymore.

    My current plan is to shut weeaboo.space down sometime in May. I will send a bulk mail out to all registered E-mail addresses once I've decided on the exact date and figured out the path forwards, which I hope to do sometime in the coming week.

    PSA: Microsoft released a fucked Defender ASR Definition update today.

    It causes Windows to randomly delete .lnk files (shortcuts) from all around the system, including the taskbar and start menu.

    The workaround is to go to your configuration management for ASR (I'm assuming Intune here, change for GPO, SCCM or similar) and setting the Defender ASR rule "Win32 imports from Office macro code" to Audit Only.

    Clients will then have to sync this policy down until Microsoft gets their shit together. Unfortunately, recovering already deleted shortcuts doesn't have an easy fix.
