@akkartik @aral this came up when the article was posted (Nov 9). There seems to be a logic error here. As stated, the DDOS issue is caused by having *lots* of servers. So encouraging people to move to their own smaller services would make that worse, right?

To be clear, I'm in agreement that large instances are unhealthy for the network at a social level, but the argument seems to fall apart at a technical level.
