@aral Poor wee thing. Can you turn the TV or radio up to drown out the noise a bit. We used to have to do that with our dogs on Halloween & just give them cuddles & treats. Tried of those calming sprays for them but they weren't very effective.
Luckily my current cat is old & deaf so she can't hear it all. Seems like everyone around us is letting off fireworks tonight.

You go to dim the upstairs lights but the stupid thing is connected to the lights in the spare room where your father is staying. You forget this, hear loud protests & yet again you are the most disappointing child (despite being middle aged!) 😩
