@feditips @rljenk @bunnyhero yeah, might not be able to explain exactly. Notification and other column space is always precious in multiconversational settings like monsterdon and the bird. being able to textually search has always been important to me to keep my feeds unclogged with reminders of stuff I already know about or can't use at the moment. The real fix is for me to get off my butt and convert an existing fedithingy and allow searching regeps for ANYTHING "@othrorange_tag" no prob etc

@feditips @rljenk @bunnyhero yes but I don't want to, it's just this very specific thing. On the bird I could just look for @someonesemail $and @email1ThatsAtell @email2ThatsAtell etc. I did ask them not to include me so that might fix it, but this happens often enough with more than one I'd like to get a general workaround and still see my friends comments just where they should be (in a specific hashtag and not my notifications) if that makes sense?

@Gaysis at this point I'm just guessing, but I do see a 'enable advanced web interface' that I clicked under setup advanced web interface (yeah that's dumb but maybe that will help?)

@Gaysis @admin Gaysis is trying to get rid of the arbitrary 4 columns limit. Unfortunately I dont remember the options needed when I joined in November.

@Gaysis @UnCoveredMyths Oh, it might be simpler than this, you canctrl+minus to get the browser to fit more characters/columns. Maybe set column width to NOT wide/not big? I'll be on later if you can't figure it out...

@Gaysis Try this, randomly click on hashtags (or the ones you are interested in) and 'pin' them. After a few, try again. I bet you'll see the columns you just added?

@Gaysis Click on this #TOSSatNight scroll over (use the small scroll bars that appear on the bottom) see the pin button at the top of the newly column that was just created, click on pin, do the same for #SymSat do the same for #iLikeToWatch now that you actually have actual more than 4 columns the browser (I've used chrome, firefox, opera, midori, konqueror they all behave the exact same) now your browser will see these new columns.

@Gaysis Yes, that looks close enough? I think you need to find out your admin/IT and bug them. @feditips do you know your counterpart on swiss-talk.net ? I have no idea at this point. November was a long time ago. I only remember clicking on stuff until it worked. This could be a bug, it could be a language specific bug, it could be a old instance, it could be other.

@feditips Also if anyone writes a utube to peertube transfer I wouldn't mind volunteering to test it. @feditips @FediVideo I did a quick search for Vanha and Beethoven, guess we are still early days? nothing showed up. I might have videos for both of these in a few weeks. What's a link for the ?peertube? to upload?

@feditips I don't think it's directly mastodon's fault, but the behavior seems to be, if you start youtube and play something, even if you close that window/tab something remains and makes a pathological slowdown until you kill any (same) browser and restart. So I have a workaround. I can also use a different browser to get a link then destroy the other typed browser just in case, so workarounds, all around

@feditips I am on my phone and firefox on linux. Phone is 100% responsive (chrome) linux isn't refreshing for 10 min or longer. But then it will work fine for hours. The only thing slightly weird is I have 12? columns on the linux. Also saw this on chrome randomly. Anyone run memory leak tests with more than 1 or few columns?
