@ricmac @brianstorms 154k people have opted-in to search. That's fewer than the 878k that have opted in to being featured in discovery algorithms, but I think it's not as few as some people might think.

@brianstorms @ricmac Search on Mastodon is opt-in because that's how the community wanted it. If certain authors are missing in your results, I suggest approaching them and asking to consider opting-in. I happily use search to find stuff every day.

@brianstorms @ricmac Not having enough search results for a specific query is not the same thing as there not being a search function, which exists since 2023.

@ricmac @Researchbuzz My concern is only that people in the other comments seem to be under the impression that Mastodon doesn't have search based on the way you're making your points.

@brianstorms @ricmac Which functionality is lacking? Can you give an example of a search query and how the results differed from your expectations?

@ricmac @Researchbuzz This is outdated or misinformed. Mastodon has had full text search capabilities for quite some time now.

@Twitter_expat I shot it at box speed, so 80 ISO. I try not to go below 1/125 handheld, so I was probably between f1.7 and f2.8. I probably missed focus because the subject moved, it was not intentionally on the neck.

Probably not a film I'm going to use ever again, but for this shot it sort of worked.

@fahrni @glass I think you pay to be a member of and upload to Glass. I don't have an account and I can navigate to your Glass profile and browse all the photos without paying anything.

@fahrni @glass If there is some paywalled content it can remain so, but there's clearly public content on Glass too, and that would only benefit from access to a wider audience.

@glass Is there a future where Mastodon users could follow Glass users directly? Would love to chat about that.

@dangillmor @ernie No, that's unrelated. What I mean is full federation support. They haven't delivered on it yet.
