Why AT Protocol and not #ActivityPub? I find it strange the #Fediverse isn't mentioned at all

@af I'm not sure I understand...
@af I'm a really big fan of his and I suspect he may have a good reason, but I don't know... I would actually ping him @pluralistic
Also wonder what @aral thinks
This bullshit brought to you by the same people who kept trying to sanewash Trump.
Btw, if there is no ALGORITHM then (maybe) social NETWORKS aren't obligated to weed out disinformation (but should still provide tools for the users).
Since social MEDIA built their entire business model on ALGORITHMS, then fucking yes they MUST engage in fact-checking!
💥
Ah, yes, self-regulation 🔥
@aral Thanks! Added to image
Maybe that's how #AI destroys us?
Heh so Instagram won't let me follow anyone anymore. It seems I've been over-following accounts and people all day.
I should probably wait a day before I follow the next gay influencer or porn star. Um... I meant pastry chef.
They still don't let me follow anyone...
@aral If there's no #dick on the canvas, then there are no Bulgarians present at that time 😅
@aral Can I pin your post to my profile?!
@pixelfed Let me know if I can help somehow.
@pixelfed I may have found something related to the issue - at the cutoff (where the images stop to show in the import selector in #Pixelfed) it seems that the files are no longer #JPG but rather #WEBP format.
Has anyone else encountered and / or figured out why an #Instagram archive import into @pixelfed might not display all the posts available in the archive at the selection step? In my case, I only see the posts from the beginning ~2015 until some time in 2021, but all of 2022 and 2023 just won't show up (although I can clearly see it in the archive if I open it on my computer).
@foncu@paquita.masto.host It's very possible that the import works just fine for you - from what I'm seeing, these issues are rare.
Still, I'm pinging @dansup (hope he doesn't hate me after this) so that we identify if this is a problem with the functionality, of with UX / documentation (e.g. something that could be included as a note in the guides), or with the instance setup (Ibid.) - just so that if anyone else experiences these, they will be known and solved.
OK, it seems the #Instagram import into #Pixelfed now works - with one interesting issue (that I also tested on Pixelfed.eu, so it's not just our instance) - when I open the archive to select what posts to import, I see noting between 2021 and now, so I can only select posts from 2021 and before. Not sure why this is happening. Did something change then in the way they store posts?
@mraiur @dansup @pixelfed
@dansup @pixelfed
Someone asked if the limit to the number of #Instagram posts we can IMPORT into #Pixelfed would also constitute a limit to the number of posts we can VIEW in the selector. Could that be the issue?
@dansup @pixelfed @mraiur So far I've found one other person with the same issue 🤔
@foncu When doing the export of the archive, I chose the JSON option, which gave me a large .zip file with multiple folders and subfolders - it's just that it seems there's a "content" folder that contains a JSON description of this structure and its relationships. When doing the import, I just select that .zip file.
