@eff actually Apartheid was a blend of both censorship and propaganda - selectively holding some information back, whilst also selectively pushing other information. It is still found today in other governments and industries, in a more subtle guise, to also shape opinions and thoughts.

@Gargron editing is your friend I realised. I chop about 30% of my videos to tighten everything up. Just let it roll, and cut and trim all the bad bits out. Makes the recording process more relaxed.

@eff only secret chats are E2EE, normal direct chats are client-server encryption only. But as far as I remember Telegram's servers have those chats encrypted and operators do not have the decryption keys available to them, so they can't just go looking at people's private chats.

@eff Google is really an ad-based business itself and there is no way they can actually go against that, despite all thee well-meaning words and PR - it's their bread and butter. Maybe they should not be in the browser business at all.

@Gargron beautiful camera. Yes I still have my grandfather's Asahi Pentax Spotmatic camera, with a zoom lens, flash, etc. Haven't used it for decades but it was all still working 100% when I last used 35mm film.

@dansup @pixelfed For Stories on Android it does not seem to show my HEIC photos for upload. For normal Pixelfed uploads it does show HEIC.

I did, and I never looked back, part from losing 14kg of weight many years back. Humans survive pretty well on whole foods that came from actual plants and animals.
