That makes sense.
Is there a way for me to "tie" both accounts (maybe aliases?) or do my followers here have to follow my Bookwyrm account manually?

I have a question. I have created an account on bookwyrm.social (@richard.degenne) and I realized that the account also shows on Mastodon when searching for it.
Does that mean I could have logged in to Bookwyrm with my Mastodon account? Is there a way to merge the two, or to have my Bookwyrm posts show up on Mastodon?
I've understood the principle of federation across Mastodon instances, but it's still not clear how it works across different software.
