I just tried to follow @LALegault from my *mastodon.social* and it was stuck on "requesting approval". The follow didn't go through until she followed me back (which I had to accept manually, even though I have different settings). I tried the same for the admin account on newsie.social and it did go through immediately.
I tested your account too. And my follow from *mastodon.social* did go through (but not immediately; this is probably just federation)

@aral aren't these your notifications?

@Gargron I have seen Mastodon instances that display the techcrunch link previews correctly but don't remember which one it was.

@mike805 @aral I don't understand how y'all are testing on WebKit? Do you have Apple devices you test on?
I tried testing it with Epiphany but it's buggy and still different than Safari.
