Brutal morning, woke up from 2 dreams where I had a gf to reality with no gf and realized that there's no chance for at least a month for me to even try to get one meaning I see no end of this terrible feeling in sight because I'm going to be moving around so much with family travel obligations due to birthdays (including mine) and the holidays but I will need to put on a happy face for those events nonetheless.

Update- August 1,1945, we managed to clear out the remaining Anglo-Canadian-French-American forces from Italy in 2 encirclements while we evacuated the Balkans and are now able to man the Atlantic coast with our weakest divisions along fortified coastal forts, and the Italian coast with our remaining weakest divisions along with Italian militia and marines.

Our strongest divisions are all on the Eastern Front now along with our relatively strongest divisions finally all re-deployed from the Western and Italian fronts as mobile reserves. The East is at a stalemate for the time being while the Soviets seem to be trying and failing to encircle and knock out Hungary.

Great book that I just finished reading focused on the Eastern Front, would highly recommend. 'Deathride: Hitler Vs. Stalin - the Eastern Front, 1941-1945' by John Mosier.

The most pleasantly surprised I've ever been reading a book not knowing what course it would take before hand, it completely destroys so many myths that came out of the USSR after the war that the vast majority of people- including those who consider themselves educated on the matter- still believe, that have since been completely shattered by the data that we now have post-collapse of the USSR.

Myths like 'The Soviets beat Hitler all by themselves/before lend lease', 'Zhukov was a great general', 'Hitler was an amateur commander', 'Most of the deaths of Soviet citizens were caused by Hitler and not Stalin', belief in literally any numbers that came out of the Soviet side, 'Kursk was a disaster for Germany', 'Russian doctrine improved over the course of the war', 'Deep Battle', etc.

Tankies and Duginists/Russophiles will absolutely hate this one and it though the information is not necessarily new it puts together the arguments well and all in one place and goes against the grain of 'Germany was doomed from the start and the Soviet Union was an unbeatable colossus' that has become popular among Historians. I'm surprised it doesn't have bad reviews but is actually well reviewed at least where I got it considering so many in academia are lefites who would be enraged if they actually read this.

Also attached a synopsis that I agree with 100% based on my years of reading and that summarizes the books main points well.
