Since there are no more analog TV stations on the air in this country, I have no way of testing sets I find it thrift stores anymore.

So, I finally decided to try the code that Charles Lohr developed for tricking an ESP8266 into transmitting analog TV signals over the air with its RX pin.

This is actually someone else's version of his code because he wrote his code to be compiled in the esp8266 SDK environment and I don't know how to use that. This code compiles in the Arduino IDE and it does work!

This is being transmitted over the air. This is not a composite video signal.

@arek its true. my old galaxy S5 did a good job. My pixel 4A and my current motorola phone are terrible about it

@arek ugh indeed! I know this works on real cameras, but not here, so I'm wondering if the adjustable framerate of an android phone's camera is some kind of software fudge rather than the real thing

@arek I use that one, but still, none of the available framerates provide a clear video

I made it onto the Metrolink train, but at the very last minute because none of the Metrolink platforms are clearly labeled and I couldn't figure out where I was supposed to go. I also couldn't find the pay kiosk, so I'm aboard without valid fare. Hopefully no one asks for my ticket

It has started off well with a guy at the bus station complimenting my DIY bicycle headlight system.

I would've taken the extra time to look for the kiosk more, but the trains only run once an hour
